Mushroom Home Grower's Handbook
This handbook is intended for people who are not afraid to do things themselves, to experiment, who can be patient, enjoy progress, and are ready to experience occasional failures.
The handbook compiles the necessary basic theoretical knowledge and practical do-it-yourself instructions. Regardless of previous experience, this handbook will help you successfully grow your first mushrooms at home.
Although all the described methods have been practically tested by us or are still used by us, the environment around you and the available raw materials may differ. Therefore, do not be afraid to experiment and adapt both the recipes and the processes themselves.
The electronic handbook is regularly updated and supplemented, so we recommend visiting it repeatedly. If you find any errors or shortcomings in the handbook, please share them at lab@spora.lv.
Handbook Structure
The first two chapters of the handbook — Theory in Brief and First Steps — will provide a general overview of mushrooms and mushroom growing processes. We recommend not skipping these sections and reading them first.
The subsequent chapters are structured following the natural growth stages of mushrooms, providing practical tips for each.
You Already Have Mycelium
If you are already experienced or have mushroom mycelium available at any of its stages — go ahead to the section that is currently relevant to you.
You Will Grow Mushrooms for the First Time
If you don't yet have mycelium, we recommend getting acquainted with the entire growing cycle first — the initial stages can be more time-consuming and complex than the later ones. Only then choose the process with which to start your first practical cultivation — mushroom mycelium can be purchased at any of its stages.
Good luck! 💚
